Nurtured through a diverse tapestry of experiences that have shaped her into a determined and visionary arts leader. As a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Faith stands at the precipice of her professional life, fortified with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business and Voice, a commanding vocal instrument, and a steadfast resolve to make her mark on the world of opera.
Ultimately, the grand and emotive art form of opera captured her heart and set her on a definitive path. "I chose my major because of my love and passion for opera," Faith has stated. For her, it is a living, breathing entity. She recognizes that, "Opera, performing, and collaborations with living composers and connections are super essential in the world." This profound understanding of opera's contemporary relevance became the driving force behind her ambitions to not only participate in the art form, but to actively shape its future.
The transition to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, marked a period of deep immersion and active contribution. At the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music, she became one of its most dedicated and influential student leaders. Her dedication to opera was further evidenced by her active participation in the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre and her work with the esteemed Knoxville Opera, which provided her with a practical understanding of the professional industry.
This experience was deeply personal. Reflecting on her time there, Faith has said, “I love all the opportunities this college offers and what it has done for the start of my career as an artist.” A reported quote on social media—"The entire music building is my family"—paints a vivid picture of a student who found a true sense of belonging, a feeling she reciprocated in her role as a Student Ambassador for the College of Music.
Faith Nevarez’s vision for the future of opera and is clear: one that is more inclusive, supportive, and accessible for emerging artists. Having recently graduated, she now steps onto the world stage not as a performer seeking the spotlight, but as a visionary administrator ready to build the platforms upon which others can shine.
Her ultimate career ambition is to become an artistic administrator for an opera company, a mission she articulates with conviction: "I want to...help more local artists and other talented musicians get the opportunity to perform with a trusting company.” This desire stems from a deep-seated belief in the power of local talent and the importance of creating pathways to professional success. Her goal is to create an environment where trust and opportunity are paramount, and a singer's talent is met with the administrative support necessary to flourish. Her unique combination of a performer's sensibility and a business-minded approach makes her exceptionally well-suited to this role.
While Faith’s professional ambitions are sharply focused, her life off the stage is a rich composition of diverse interests. She a traveler’s spirit and values spending quality time with friends, nurturing a strong sense of community that extends beyond her professional network.
